Microsoft updated its popular Xbox SmartGlass app for Windows Phone late Friday, adding support for 720p screens, such as the display found on the HTC Windows Phone 8X.

No change log was added to the app’s listing on the Windows Phone Store, though the newly supported resolution appears to be the only major update. Previously, devices with 16:9 aspect ratios would add a black box to the top of the display to offset the missing area. Now devices with 720×1280 screens will see the SmartGlass app make full use of the display.

SmartGlass has been one of the most popular Windows Phone apps since its October release, featuring a rating of about four and a half stars based on 2,789 reviews. The app, which allows users to remotely control their Xbox 360 consoles, also has a Windows 8 and Windows RT version that was released in October. Microsoft later released iOS and Android versions of the app. In June, Microsoft announced more than 17 million copies of SmartGlass had been downloaded across all platforms since its release
