Microsoft’s new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro are now available for purchase

 In News

Early last month, Microsoft announced the latest addition to its devices family, the Surface Laptop. But that clearly wasn’t enough, as later in the month, the firm held an event in Shanghai where it unveiled the new Surface Pro. While pre-orders have been open ever since, both devices are available today.

The Surface Laptop features an elegant metal unibody design (seen above), and the keyboard is covered in Alcantara fabric. Unfortunately, the Burgundy, Cobalt Blue, and Graphite Gold variants are only available in one (Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage) of the four configurations, and only in the United States.

But not only is it the newest member of the Surface family, but it’s powered by an OS that’s the newest member of the Windows family: Windows 10 S. With the operating system, you’ll only be able to obtain apps from the Windows Store; however, anyone who chooses to can grab a free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro before the end of the year.

Some of the accessories are available now as well. The Pen is $99.99, but you can only get it right now in Platinum (coming soon in Black, Cobalt Blue, and Burgundy), and the new $159.99 Signature Type Covers are now available in Cobalt Blue and Burgundy. The one thing that you’ll still have to wait a bit longer for is the Surface Arc Mouse, which ships on June 30.
