Microsoft to cut digital price of Xbox One’s Ryse: Son of Rome to $39.99 for one week
A few weeks ago, Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb stated that the company was aware that many games for the Xbox One go on sale in disc form, while the digital price for those same titles remains the same. He stated that offering competitive pricing for digital Xbox One games “is indeed on the agenda.” Today, the company revealed its first experimental plans to cut the price of digital Xbox One games.
In a post on his Twitter account, Microsoft Xbox exec Mike Ybarra announced that from February 18-24, the digital price for Crytek’s third-person Roman Empire action game Ryse: Son of Rome would be cut to $39.99.

There will also be some special daily price cuts for the game add-ons from Feb. 25-27, according to Ybarra. The sale will also be available in other Xbox One regions, such as the UK, where the price for Ryse will be £34.99.
The digital sale for Ryse will conclude just a few days before Microsoft and developer Crytek release the latest DLC pack for the game; Mars’ Chosen Pack will be made available on February 28th and will cost $8.99. It will add five new multiplayer maps, a new character skin and a new gameplay mode, Survival, as the player and another gladiator have to face endless waves of enemies..
